Thousands of plant pages.

I have a large database of plant information, how do I make it easy and fun to interact with?

Solution

I wanted to offer a solution that worked for pinpointing a specific plant and  supported browsing and exploration.  

There were many available filter/facets for this set of data -- I decided early that graphics would be key to helping people sort through the many choices. Rather than a dry list of words, the filter set uses colorful, easy to understand graphics. 

The other key to this solution was a design that let people turn plant filters on and off with fast updating of lush, visual results. 

This final product was easy to use, interactive, fun and creative.

Included in this project were the plant detail page and the plant results in the general site search results.
